The Mrs. Colorado Foundation will provide encouragement and financial support toward the pursuit of education to those women in Colorado who are seeking to better enhance their lives mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

The story of Mrs. Colorado Foundation
“While attending graduate school at the University of Colorado, I also worked as an Educational Recruiter for a local proprietary school. One day I was introduced to Julie, a brilliant woman whose aspirations included working in a top notch corporate accounting department. After completion of the general entrance exam (as required by the school), I was privy to her test results and was informed of her almost perfect score. There was no doubt that Julie would be a star in the program, and there was no doubt that Julie was heading down the path to success. It was such a joy for me to share the good news with Julie. But before we could celebrate the exceptional test scores, Julie and I were both faced with the harsh reality that she was not eligible for scholarship or financial assistance from the school. Julie, a hard working woman, was also married to a hard working man. Despite their hard work, their combined income was just enough to make her ineligible for financial assistance, but not nearly enough to fund her own education.”

It was Julie who reminded me that we each can attain what we set out to do, regardless of the road blocks that are placed in front of us, if we truly have the desire and belief to make things possible. Although Julie was optimistic, there was no denying her sense of disappointment.”

“That was nearly eight years ago. For a number of years after, I realized one of my own life’s aspirations was to create a foundation that could provide support for women like Julie.”

“In 2006, the Mrs. Colorado Foundation was established. It has become a foundation that thrives on the donations from individuals and organizations throughout the state of Colorado, in order to give back to those who provide so much for our society – Colorado’s women.”
